Pikes (ages 3-5)

Your child will learn basic swim skills and acquire all-round confidence in water.

Swim test recommended.

 

Pikes with Parent (ages 3-5)

New Class! This class is designed for children not comfortable without the parent in the pool with them. The class is child focused, with the parent present but with limited participation. The class works as a beginner Pike class, not a Parent-Infant Class.

 

Eels (ages 3-5)

For advanced beginners, children independent in the water, can learn the front crawl and back crawl. Stroke development is emphasized at this level.

 

Rays (ages 3-5)

For children ready to work on their freestyle and stroke endurance learn breaststroke and rotary breathing fundamentals in this class.

 

Polliwog (ages 6 - 13)

The purpose of this class is to emphasize water adjustment and water safety as well as floating, kicking, rhythmic breathing, and practicing correct form. A good horizontal position on top of the water allows the swimmer to begin learning the front crawl.

 

Guppy (ages 6 - 13)

This class requires that the child must pass polliwog or be able to do the front and back float, as well as the front crawl. Students will review and improve rotary breathing and be introduced to rhythmic breathing and treading water, as well as learning the ability to transition from a front crawl to a back float.

 

Minnow (ages 6 - 13)

This class requires that the student must pass guppy or be able to do 25 yards of front crawl with rhythmic breathing. The emphasis of this class is to improve front and back crawl. Kids will also be introduced to the breaststroke and to diving and will work on technique and endurance through lap swimming.

 

Shark (ages 6 - 13)

Sharks focus on stroke refinement and endurance of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. Discussions include basic first aid and survival techniques.
