Camp Whittle
Grades 4 - 7
Located in the beautiful San Bernardino Mountains near Big Bear Lake, this camp is full of fun and excitement. Camp Whittle is ideal to new and returning campers. All campers are placed in cabin groups with friends their own age and grade level. Activities include archery, horseback riding, rope course, mountain biking, swimming, sports, games, rock climbing, arts and crafts and campfires. Your child will have the opportunity to experience personal growth through this camp experience.
Leadership Camp at Camp Whittle
Grades 8 - 10
This camp is for campers entering grades 8–10 and would like a little extra challenge. Leadership campers will have an overnight away from the main camp. They will take part in leadership development activities such as a high rope course and a night under the stars as a part of their Y-camp experience.
Mammoth Camp
Grades 7 - 8
This camp is designed for campers going into grades 7–8 who have an appreciation for nature. They will experience an outdoor adventure they will never forget in the High Sierras and explore breathtaking Mammoth Mountain. They will stay at the YMCA base camp and explore their surroundings by taking one-day excursions that will fill each day with excitement. Campers sleep in tents and take part in a variety of activities including archery, hiking, rock climbing, mountain biking, fishing, visiting natural hot springs and outdoor leadership development. Along the way, they will make new friends through this wilderness adventure.
High School Counselor in Training (CIT)
Camp Whittle
Ages 16 - 17
The goal of this program is to help young teens develop such skills as leadership, communication, teamwork and organization. CITs will be assigned to cabins and act as leaders to younger campers under the guidance of adult counselors and directors. All CITs will receive training in CPR and First Aid and will be certified by the end of the course.
