Inglewood-Centinela Member Update
The Inglewood-Centinela YMCA is closed as of February 1, 2010. Inglewood staff and board are committed to finding a viable solution to meet the needs of the community.
Message from Inglewood-Centinela Director Donna Waite
It is with sadness that I announce that the Inglewood-Centinela YMCA will be closed as of February 1, 2010. Due to new terms in our lease agreement, we can no longer operate our facility at the current location. This transition will affect your membership, but you may continue to use the YMCA in its current location until January 31, 2010.
Los Angeles YMCA Association executives and volunteer leaders have joined with Inglewood’s staff and board members in a commitment to find a viable solution so we can continue to meet the needs of our community. While we explore all the options for remaining in the community, you can still take advantage of all the YMCA has to offer.
All Inglewood-Centinela YMCA members are invited to join any of the following YMCAs: Westchester Family YMCA, Weingart YMCA Aquatics and Wellness Center, Culver-Palms Family YMCA with no joining fee and at your current Inglewood-Centinela YMCA membership rate if you join on or before February 28, 2010. The current rate would be honored until December 31, 2010. In January 2011, your membership rates would automatically be adjusted to the selected branch’s current membership rates. As always, financial assistance is available for your YMCA membership at every branch.
The above mentioned YMCAs are conveniently located and provide many of the same programs that you currently enjoy. The closest YMCA is the Westchester Family YMCA located at 8015 S. Sepulveda Blvd. which is only 4 miles from the Inglewood-Centinela YMCA site.
We want to make this transfer process as seamless as possible and therefore, we will have membership representatives from the above listed branches available to assist you. Please check with the membership desk for updates on the schedule. If you plan to transfer your membership you must cancel at Inglewood and join the branch of your choosing.
This is your YMCA. You can count on us to keep you well informed about the next chapter in the life of the Inglewood-Centinela YMCA. Our goal is to remain as a partner with the community and continue to provide programs for you and your family. As new updates are available, we will share them with you.
