The Westchester Family YMCA was started with modest means in the early 1950s, meeting in space provided by a barber shop in the Triangle for meetings. The Westchester Y branch opening in 1958. Over time the branch has physically and programmatically morphed over time. The Westchester Y is largest not-for-profit serving youth in this community – outside of the schools. Our branch is among the strongest in the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles association, with community program delivery combined to complement our healthy lifestyle programs.
