Associate Teacher - Grant Site

The Preschool Child Care Associate Teacher is responsible for the direct supervision, teaching and safety of all enrolled children in the Preschool Program (including a group of up to 8 children per teacher). The position plans monthly curriculum and conducts activities for preschool age children and assists in the implementation of an enriching and nurturing children’s program. The Preschool Child Care Teacher assists the Site Director with the licensing compliance, classroom environments and maintenance of program quality and school readiness standards for the site. This position must ensure the safety of children

Hours and Salary

Salary Range: $12.75-$13.50
Classification: Full time, non-exempt, hourly, 40 hours/week

Qualifications

REQUIREMENT: All applicants MUST hold a current Associate Teacher Child Development Permit from the California’s Commission on Teacher Credentialing office or higher.

• AGE: Eighteen years or older

• EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent; High School English proficiency, AA or higher in ECE/CD or related field with 3 units supervised field experience in an ECE/CD setting
• ECE UNITS:  Minimum of twenty-four units in Early Childhood Education completed, including core courses of child development, child, family, and community and ECE curriculum classes
• RELATED EXPERIENCE: Experience working with children in a preschool setting
• SPECIALIZE SKILLS: Strong character values, communication skills, emotional maturity
• LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS: Current Pediatric First Aid; Adult, Infant, and Child CPR; Preventive Health Practices Certifications (required); current Associate Teacher Child Development Permit from the California’s Commission on Teacher Credentialing office or higher.
