San Pedro Peninsula YMCA Delegate Elected 68th Youth Governor

On February 12-16, 2015, thousands of YMCA Youth & Government (Y&G) delegates visited the State Capitol for the 67th Model Legislature & Court (MLC) youth leadership and civic development program. We’re extremely proud that for the third consecutive year, a student from the LA Y was elected the Youth Governor. Making a Difference Every Thanksgiving

We believe every family deserves a special meal on Thanksgiving, and that’s why for the 8th year, our North Valley Family YMCA provided Thanksgiving food baskets to 10,000 deserving San Fernando Valley residents. Nominated by local school principals, community groups and the North Valley Family Y, 3,000 families received enough food to feed a family of four. Read More…

West Valley Family YMCA Raises $50,000 at its 1st Annual 10K Missile Run & Two Mile Family Fun Run

On November 15, 2014, our West Valley Family YMCA held its First Annual 10k Missile Run & Two Mile Family Fun Run at Marvin Braude Mulholland Gateway Park in Tarzana. This fundraiser promoted the importance of physical activity, as 290 adults and kids ran, walked and jogged along the hilly terrain, and Los Angeles City Councilmember Bob Blumenfield spoke to the crowd.
