Child Care Program: Fun, Safe & Enriching
You will discover a safe, nurturing setting for children to learn, grow and play at all of our licensed, on-site, before & after school programs. With 6 school locations at three public school districts throughout the in Santa Clarita Valley, we’re here and ready for you.
In all that we do, we focus on the whole child and work to help children realize their personal potential. The YMCA child care program consists of 6 components: homework time/educational support, character development, nutrition and healthy lifestyles, recreation and play, family involvement, and community involvement.
Benefits include year-round care, 1:12 staff to child ratio and enrichment instructors with a background in education and child development. Curriculum includes homework time, fun enrichment classes and activities throughout the day and the chance to work with community organizations.
To register your child, complete a registration packet available at each YMCA child care location, and turn it in to our main facility at 26147 McBean Parkway, Valencia, CA 91355.

Our Curriculum: The Roadmap to Success
The YMCA child care program curriculum consists of six components:

• Enrichment programs: Educational, Recreational and Fine Arts
In addition to these core areas, the YMCA programs also offer children a wide variety of enrichment experiences. Our programs allow children to explore their interests and desires while building their self-esteem and gaining confidence and pride in their accomplishments. Qualified, subject-specific instructors in addition to the existing child care staff facilitate enrichment programs.
The three enrichment areas that we focus on are Educational, Recreational and Fine Arts. We believe that these areas allow for the maximum growth and development of all children.
Educational Enrichment
In conjunction with the California State Standards for children, our Educational Enrichment classes build upon skills that children learn during their academic school day. Skills are reinforced through a variety of fun, hands-on classes in an effort to help children gain a better understanding of each concept.
Recreation Enrichment
With the decline of psychomotor programming in schools, Recreation Enrichments are essential in the out-of-school time environment. Our Recreation Enrichments give children the opportunity to learn new sports and sports-related skills while at the same time working on gross motor development, self-esteem and team building.
Fine Arts Enrichment
The fine arts foster students' abilities to develop problem solving skills, flexibility, creativity, cooperative approaches, persistence, and responsibility as well as oral and written language skills. In our Fine Arts Enrichment classes we nurture the artistic abilities of all children. Whether it be through visual or performing arts, we encourage children to participate in a variety of arts exploration in the hopes that they will find the best way to express themselves.

Choices Are Good
Child care programs are offered with school months only and year-round options. Parents may enroll children for 3 or 5 days and choose between 2 different payment plans. Most plans include student free days, teacher-in-service days, early dismissals, Fall/Winter/Spring breaks, and selected holidays.
