How do I become a member?

Becoming a member is easy! You can complete the Member Enrollment Form ahead of time and visit the Welcome Center at a time that is convenient for you. Please bring a photo ID. We'll talk with you about which membership would best fit your needs as well as your health and wellness goals. You can make your initial payment (the enrollment fee plus your first month's dues), we'll set up a monthly bank draft and issue you a membership card. You can start working out that day!

We're (almost) always open!

Mon - Fri, 5:00 am - 11:00 pm

Sat, 5:00 am - 5:00 pm

Sun, Closed

How much does it cost to become a member?

YMCA fees vary depending on the category of membership you choose. There is a one-time joining fee and monthly membership fees. There is no contract so you can stop your membership at anytime. Membership categories include:

> Family Membership (one or two adults with or without children under 18)

> Adult Membership (18 years and older)

> Youth Membership (Ages 12-17)

> Choice Membership: Unlimited access to the 23 full facility YMCAs of Los Angeles

What happens if I can't afford the membership fees?

Through the generosity of donors, the YMCA is able to help if you can't afford the full membership fees. All YMCA members receive the same membership benefits, regardless of whether or not they are receiving financial assistance and your application is processed confidentially. Please speak to a Membership Representative for more information or call 323-588-2256.

Do you offer family memberships?

Yes. The YMCA's Family Membership is for one adult or two adults and all children under 18.

What is the YMCA Membership Satisfaction Guarantee?

Should you decide to stop your membership within the first 30 days, you may request and will receive a full refund of the joiner's fee and your monthly dues.

Can I use every YMCA with my membership?

Your membership card may be honored at more than 2,500 YMCAs across the country if they participate in the AWAY program. Some restrictions apply. Please check the YMCA you are planning to visit in advance.

Also, if you choose the Choice Membership, you'll enjoy the freedom to use all 23 of the full-facility YMCAs that are part of the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles.

What is included with membership?

As a Facility Member, you can use all the facilities and participate in many of the programs offered - as often as you want! There may, however, be additional fees for instructional programs, such as swimming lessons and martial arts. Check out your YMCA's programs for more information.

Do you offer child care while I exercise?

Absolutely! We provide Child Watch for children ages 6 months – 9 years, which is a caring and fun environment where your young children can play and make friends while you work out. There is no extra fee and no advanced reservations are required! Child Watch hours:

Mon - Fri, 8 am - 1 pm and 3 - 9 pm

Sat, 8 am - 4 pm

Can I bring a guest with me?

You can bring as many guests as you wish, one free visit per guest! Please let your guest know they need to bring photo identification such as a driver's license and sign a liability waiver. If your guest is under 18, a parent or legal guardian will need to sign the liability waiver.

Can I visit the YMCA for just the day?

Yes, you can buy a day pass. That way, you will be considered a member for the day and can participate in as many programs as you like! You can also try a free 7-day guest pass.

How do I cancel my membership?

At the YMCA, there are no contracts for the length of your membership. If you need to cancel you YMCA membership, please drop by or call your YMCA 14 days before your automatic monthly fee transfer date so that we can stop the transfer.

How can I update my information with you if I move?

When you become a member, you will receive a YMCA User ID and Password allowing you to manage your membership account as well as register for programs and make a donation all online.
