Jr. Lakers & Shooting Sparks

Our most popular youth sports program is the Jr. Lakers & Shooting Sparks Basketball program for boys and girls, respectively.

(Fees include team uniform, trophy and 8 - 10 week season)

This program is designed to teach participants between the ages of 3 and 15, fundamental basketball skills through regular practice and applying their skills in games with other local YMCA teams of their same age. The focus of the program emphasizes teamwork and good sportsmanship, keeping consistent with the philosophy of the YMCA and the wishes of the Lakers Organization.

This program is successful because of volunteer involvement. If anyone is interested in being a coach, team parent, etc., please contact Gloria Dimas at gloriadimas@ymcala.org. We conduct the training for would-be coaches and other volunteers, so feel free to consider this volunteer opportunity, even if you have never done this before! The family that plays together stays together!
