Be Inspired by One of Our Amazing Teens on TODAY

It’s hard enough to be a teen these days. One can only imagine the stress when you compound those challenges with homelessness. As part of the TODAY show’s “Share Kindness” campaign, TODAY show correspondent Sheinelle Jones introduced viewers to University High School senior Guillermo Hercules, who, like many teens in our community, has found a home at the Y.

Learning about the Y’s commitment to providing a safe and nurturing space for teens, TODAY, with the help of Emmy-award winning actress and proud Hollywood YMCA member Jane Lynch surprised Guillermo and other Collins & Katz Family YMCA teens with a brand new Teen Lounge. Furnished by Apt2B, teens now have a sleek space for teen leadership programs, tutoring sessions and more.

With 26 branches and three resident camps, YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles is proud to provide the tools, resources and encouragement to help kids realize their potential. For more information about teen programs offered at your Y, please contact your local branch.
