Shower & Hygiene Program for unsheltered Angelenos returns to 7 LA Y locations

LA Sanitation and Environment (LASAN) Extending Partnership with YMCA to Provide Hygiene Facilities to Unsheltered Angelenos during ongoing COVID-19 Emergency.

As part of a multi-pronged approach to provide unsheltered Angelenos with hygiene services, LASAN is extending its partnership with the YMCA to provide showers at seven locations throughout the City. Since the onset of the pandemic in the Spring of 2020, LASAN and the YMCA provided over 75,000 showers.

Showers, bathrooms and locker rooms will be provided through the end of the year at the following YMCA facilities Monday - Friday from 9am - 2pm:

Additionally, the City will extend the temporary deployment of 150 portable hygiene stations at or near homeless encampments through the end of the year. The partnership with the YMCA and these hygiene facilities will supplement the six mobile hygiene units being deployed by LASAN as part of the CARE program and 17 Mobile Pit Stop units managed by the Board of Public Works.

All participants will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms before accessing all YMCA facilities. Government issued IDs required at all locations.
