Youth Basketball

It’s no surprise our Youth Basketball program is offered in partnership with the Los Angeles Clippers®. After all, did you know that basketball was founded at the Y? James Naismith, a teacher at the international YMCA training school, invented the sport in 1891!

Through positive coaching, our Jr. Clippers Youth Basketball program teaches young athletes the fundamentals of the game while building their confidence, getting them active, and helping them learn valuable lessons in teamwork, sportsmanship and leadership.

Our Jr. Clippers Basketball program and basketball leagues run year-round and are open to both boys and girls. We make sure each child participates in every game and receives equal playing time, regardless of skill level.

In addition to practices and league play, Jr. Clippers participants receive many unique opportunities, including FREE basketball clinics hosted by the LA Clippers.

Play together. Grow together.

Jr. Clippers Youth Basketball League

Ages 4-15

Participants will learn the basic fundamentals of basketball in a positive and fun environment. The program is designed to build their self-confidence, discover their personal best, and be part of a team to make new friends. The YMCA strives to provide the best basketball experience possible for its participants. Focus is on teamwork, fair play and skill development. We have great volunteer coaches, parents and referees. Every team has practice one time each week and plays their game on Saturday.
