The YMCA’s “30 Under 30” initiative, launched in 2018, is a prestigious award recognizing exceptional young leaders within the organization. This initiative spotlights 30 full-time Y leaders under the age of 30, acknowledged for embodying the core values of the Y’s mission and demonstrating significant accomplishments, displaying potential to lead various Y Associations in the years to come.  This year, the LA Y proudly shares two outstanding candidates featured in this prestigious Y – USA initiative: Brenda Galvez and Jimi-Lee Tomboc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The LA Y spotlights Brenda Galvez, an exceptional leader whose outstanding qualities have made a transformative impact at the Y. Her dedication to achieving membership goals has exceeded expectations, notably revitalizing youth programs and contributing to increased community engagement. Brenda’s collaboration with the Healthy Lifestyle Department has expanded fitness offerings, aligning seamlessly with member preferences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brenda’s visionary leadership, member-centric approach, and positive influence make her an invaluable asset to the LA Y, embodying the excellence and determination that define our work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jimi-Lee’s profound connection to the Y is deeply rooted in her personal journey, having benefited from Y programs since childhood. Rising from a camp participant to her current role as the youngest Senior Regional Director of Teen Programming at the LA Y, Jimi-Lee exemplifies unwavering dedication and allegiance to the Y that shaped her. Jimi draws motivation from her personal history, prioritizing the engagement of program participants through the Teen Leadership Council and contributing significantly to the Annual Support Campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jimi showcases unparalleled dedication rooted in her personal journey with the Y. Recognized nationally, her transformative leadership spans revitalizing programs, fostering community dialogue, and ensuring inclusivity for teens, epitomizing a steadfast commitment to the LA Y\u2019s mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
