Hit the courts with the folks who actually invented the game of volleyball - the Y!
Did you know the game of volleyball was first called “mintonette”? Originally, the game used something similar to a badminton net, and combined elements of basketball, the German game of fistball, and handball – what an inspired mash-up! The very first game was played at Springfield College in 1896 and, almost 120 years later, we’re still offering volleyball lessons and leagues for kids and adults. Our Adult Volleyball teams empower you to have fun at the net while working out with friends, old and new.
In accordance with our Y values, we focus on sportsmanship and fair play with the emphasis on teamwork and fun. Contact your local Y to see what current adult volleyball leagues are available.
