Hit the courts with the folks who actually invented the game of volleyball - the Y!
Did you know volleyball was originally called “mintonette”? Try saying that out loud! Originally the game used something similar to a badminton net, and combined elements of basketball, the German game of fistball and handball - what a combination! The Y’s very first volleyball game was played at Springfield College in 1896.
Almost 120 years later, we still love teaching kids and teens the basic volleyball fundamentals, such as underhand serving, passing, setting, hitting and digging, in a non-competitive environment. Our youth volleyball programs and volleyball clinics teach all the skills of the game while emphasizing good sportsmanship, teamwork and goal-setting in a fun atmosphere.
Increasing stamina and strength.
