West Valley Family YMCA Raises $50,000 at its 1st Annual 10K Missile Run & Two Mile Family Fun Run

On November 15, 2014, our West Valley Family YMCA held its First Annual 10k Missile Run & Two Mile Family Fun Run at Marvin Braude Mulholland Gateway Park in Tarzana.  This fundraiser promoted the importance of physical activity, as 290 adults and kids ran, walked and jogged along the hilly terrain, and Los Angeles City Councilmember Bob Blumenfield spoke to the crowd.  Raising $50,000, proceeds from this inaugural event will directly support the West Valley Family YMCA’s financial assistance and community outreach programs.

“Being able to offer financial assistance to families and individuals is extremely important to us,” said Greg Koubek, Executive Director of West Valley Family YMCA.  “We know how impactful our Y programs and classes are in helping our neighbors feel healthy, happy and connected.  Ensuring everyone – regardless of their income – is able to benefit from our services is a vital part of our mission to serve the community.”
