Director Chelsea Crowder Luke was Chair of the event and also the MC and represented the Y at the highest level; Board Chair Andrew Crowell outlined the Y’s recent accomplishments with distinction and elegance; Director Mel Lindsey presented the awards with Chelsea; Charles Johnson was the Keynote and gave us a call to action; honorees included Baron Davis, Rodney Peete and Holly Robinson Peete, and Dallas Maverick CEO Cynthia “Cynt” Marshall (the NBA’s first Black female CEO). The Organizing Committee including Chelsea Crowder Luke, Andrew Crowell, Alan Hostrup, Pep Valdes, Milo Dodson, Nicol Whiteman, Gina Zapanta, Larry Reed, Ina Coleman, Victor Dominguez, Wendy Menchaca all worked diligently and successfully to make the 51st memorable and so highly relevant.
