General Locker Room Rules
Locker room rules and amenities vary by branch. For the safety of all, members are expected to abide by the following rules when using our locker rooms:
- Youth and families are encouraged to use the Universal & Family Locker Rooms or Youth Locker Rooms, where available.
- Youth must follow the locker room usage and age requirements.
- Cell phone use, including texting, is not allowed in locker rooms.
- In family-friendly locker rooms, we ask members to be as modest and discreet as possible. Nudity is not allowed.
- Lock your locker.
- For the safety and enjoyment of all, the use of hair dyes or hair color is not allowed in locker rooms.
- Please do your part in keeping our locker rooms clean and tidy.
- Note: The rules above apply to all locations, however, certain branches may have additional locker room rules based on their configuration or amenities, please contact your local Y for more information.
In addition to the rules listed above, the following rules and configurations apply to the following locations beginning February 5th, 2024.

Men’s and Women’s Locker Room Ages
- 18 and Over
Universal and Family Locker Room
- All Ages
- This locker room is available for anyone with small children, diverse abilities, or anyone who prefers more privacy
- Children ages 11 and younger must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian
The following branches have Men’s, Women’s, Boy’s, Girl’s, and Universal & Family Locker Rooms:
- Collins & Katz Family YMCA
- Torrance-South Bay YMCA
Men’s and Women’s Locker Room Ages
- 18 and Over
Boy’s and Girl’s Locker Room
- For ages 12-17
- Ages 11 and younger must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian of the same gender.
- Adults must be accompanied by their child; unaccompanied adults are not permitted
- No Public Nudity
Universal and Family Locker Room
- All Ages
- This locker room is available for anyone with small children, diverse abilities, or anyone who prefers more privacy
- Children ages 11 and younger must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
