Afterschool / Beyond the Bell

Make the Most of
After School

Our Beyond the Bell after school programs give students a safe, fun space to build on what they’ve learned during the day—through academic help, creative projects, physical activities, and time with friends. It’s all designed with their growth and well-being in mind.

What to Expect

Beyond the Bell starts as soon as the school day ends.

Elementary and middle school students get a safe, supportive space to finish homework, eat a healthy dinner, and enjoy sports, games, and creative activities—with a 1:10 staff ratio for preschool and kindergarten and 1:20 for older students.

High schoolers have access to hands-on experiences like guitar, animation, flag football, photography, coding, drug prevention workshops, and driver’s ed. They can also join signature Y programs like IBM SkillsBuild, Global Change Agents, Advocacy Days, Teen Resiliency Workshops, Battle of the Bands, and LA Kings Ball Hockey to continue to push themselves and develop new skills.

To register or find more information about our elementary and middle school programs, have your student pick up a YMCA Beyond the Bell application from the school’s main office—or you can email us at afterschool@ymcaLA.org.

For our high school programs, your student can pick up an application from their school’s main office—or you can email our Beyond the Bell High School Program Director, Kayla, at KaylaCabrera@ymcala.org.

For additional information, download our Parent Handbook: (English | Spanish).
