Offered in partnership with the LA Kings, Delta and Blue Shield of California, LA Kings Ball Hockey and NHL Street Ball Hockey bring fast-paced fun to kids of all experience levels—no skates required.
What to Expect
In partnership with the LA Kings, the YMCA brings the excitement of ball hockey to kids across Los Angeles!
Our LA Kings Ball Hockey Leagues run every Fall and Spring (year-round at select Y centers). Over 7–8 weeks, players enjoy weekly practices and games, with all equipment provided—making it easy for every child to get on the court and play.
For kids ready for more competition, our NHL Street Ball Hockey Leagues offer elevated play and skill development. In addition to practices and games, participants receive a reversible LA Kings uniform, all required equipment, and the chance to sharpen their skills in a fun, team-oriented environment. (Parents provide mouthguards.)
Whether your child is trying hockey for the first time or looking to grow as an athlete, our leagues offer a supportive way to build confidence, stay active, and learn the value of teamwork, sportsmanship, and fair play.

Volunteers Make it Possible
Our volunteers are vital in helping us teach strong Y values through sports. Through positive coaching, young athletes learn the fundamentals of the game while building their confidence, getting them active, and helping them learn valuable lessons in teamwork, sportsmanship and leadership.
Must be 18 years of age to volunteer as a coach or assistant coach.

Kids ages 4–15 can join—our leagues are grouped by age. You don’t need to be a Y member to sign up. Click below and select your preferred location.
Pricing
LA Kings Ball Hockey leagues are free for all. NHL Street Ball Hockey leagues are $79 per season (discounted to $49 for YMCA members) and includes Official LA Kings jerseys, a complimentary ticket to an LA Kings game (Fall II season only) and all equipment.
