GET SUMMER TEEN INITIATIVE 

June 15 - July 31

With the LA Y's Get Summer virtual platform, teens will have access to a variety of fun activities that promote both mental and physical health, academic support and leadership development forums and community service opportunities to support effective and positive change in their community.

REGISTRATION IS FREE BUT REQUIRED

Students must register for the program and complete all three challenges in order to earn 20 hours of community leadership service, a letter of recommendation and certificate of achievement from the YMCA.

Health & Wellness: The YMCA is focused on motivating teens to stay active, centered on fitness and mental health. Teens will learn about the importance of staying active and the importance of self-care in regards to their well-being. The YMCA will provide information and resources from partner organizations.

Social Responsibility & Community Service: The YMCA will introduce the importance of generosity and philanthropy, by supporting students to be ethical leaders and to contribute to solutions to current problems in their community. The YMCA will connect students with community service opportunities on our website and connect students to become civically engaged through census and voter registration.

College & Career Readiness: The YMCA will introduce topics focused on college and career readiness and information from partnered organization and free online resources. Topics will include career exploration, college search, resume and interview skills and financial education.
