A Message from Our Executive Director
I hope that you and your family are safe and healthy while we all navigate our way through these tumultuous times. I’ve been through a lot in my twenty-two years working with the Y – the ’92 riots, ’94 earthquake, and the ’98 El Nino floods in the San Francisco Bay Area, but this is by far our biggest challenge yet. My heart is broken for our many staff who are on furlough. They are handling it with the utmost in professionalism and understanding. I’ve had more than a dozen of them reach out to me and ask how I am doing. I yearn for the day when we can re-open the doors of our Y to the community and welcome our staff and members back home.
